Gatsby offers Daisy a tour of his house
When they go in, Klipspringer is playing the piano
Gatsby shows them everything in his house, outlining everything old, things that Daisy will like
He shows them his bedroom
They start pulling out all of Gatsby's shirts
Daisy starts crying again - '"They're such beautiful shirts" she sobbed, her voice muffled in the tick folds. "It makes me sad because I've never seen such - such beautiful shirts before."' - very weird, childish and shallow
Gatsby talks about the green light on Daisy's dock that he can see from his house every night, represents a metaphor of Daisy
Green Light from far away looks magical/ pretty/ enchanting, but close up it's just a dock light/ not as pretty or magical, it is rather ugly
Dreams and expectations are much bigger and better than reality for Gatsby
Nick tries to leave but Gatsby and Daisy don't let him, as though it would be uncomfortable just the two of them, like their relationship/ meeting is a show and needs an audience
Gatsby then demands Klipspringer to play the piano for him and Daisy to listen to even though he can't play well, very demanding and aggressive
Nick eventually manages to leave, Daisy and Gatsby are left alone, hint of an affair to start

Gatsby makes a fuss - he sends a gardener to cut Nick's grass and sends flowers over, he wants it to be perfect
At first Gatsby is nervous, hollow - he almost leaves Nick's house before Daisy arrives

They end up in Gatsby's bedroom - Gatsby takes out all of his shirts and piles them on the bed, Daisy begins to cry; "I've never seen such beautiful shirts" - this shows how shallow she can be
They go out onto the balcony and look across the bay
Gatsby says the "green light" they can see is the end of Daisy's dock - this is the same green light as from the end of chapter one (symbolic)
The green light - twinkles, beautiful, far away, out-of-reack (this is also how Gatsby has seen Daisy)
Nick has been there the whole time - strange, however Gatsby wants him to stay
Theme - the green light conveys envy, money + dreams - the conflict between having a dream and the reality of it when it happens
Having dreamt for years (and possibly made up in his head different things), Gatsby has finally met Daisy again, however that has almost ruined it for him as he doesn't have that dream to embellish anymore - he is disappointed
